January - April, 2005: Lexington County Department of Social Services During this 180-hour internship, I learned the basic assessment skills and resources that are available to help deal with abuse and neglect to children; accompanied case- workers on home visits; assessed families for continued reduction of risk of abuse and neglect to minor children; observed court proceedings involving intervention, emergency protective custody, merits hearings, and rule-to-show-cause hearings; scheduled appointments for services; and transported children to and from service providers, schools, homes, etc. 2004: Roosevelt Village Community Awareness Day Planned a day fair to provide information to the community, planned and implemented a voters registration information site and assisted with voter registration. 2003: Cayce Public Safety 20-hour study practicum December, 1987 - May, 2005: Atlantic Bolt & Mfg.
