I was responsible for increasing a portfolio of advertisers spending approximately $250,000 per year through a combination of print and online advertising. I increased that portfolio by nearly 25%, while bringing in approximately 100 new customers valued at around $150,000 annually, during the one-year, San Francisco sales cycle. I also sold the largest online advertising program in company history, along with the support of a great manager, and creative team. It was a complex sale involving a mix of banner ads, search engine optimization and click-through advertising. It taught me a lot about discovering a client’s needs and goals (this client, a mortgage broker, had dreams of becoming the next “Lending Tree”). And, it forced me to hone my skills in research and presentation, to show the prospect where his target market was, along with the hit/traffic statistics necessary to prove a potentially huge ROI for the client.
