Software Distribution Expert
My experience in the IT field started in 1996 with IBM Global Services as a Help Desk Analyst where I provided phone support for our client, Advantica Restaurant Group. In this position I troubleshot the IBM 4694/4695 POS system that the client used in their restaurants as well as their back office computer system, which ran OS/2. I provided support on both the hardware and software for the end users. From this position, I was promoted to the Client Technical Support group as an IT Specialist on the same account. I supported approximately 600 corporate workstations in a networked PC environment where most of the end users operating systems were Windows 95. Additionally, I shared the responsibility with one other member of my group in supporting approximately 500 field laptop users using Windows 95 and Remote Access software to dial in to the local servers. This environment also consisted of 30 servers (13 Novell, 13 NT, and 4 LINUX servers) of which I provided workstation level support. Additional responsibilities included software\hardware installation and support and deploying standard platforms to the corporate office and field users. Currently, I am employed by IBM Global Services on the Michelin North America Account as a Systems Management Integration Professional. My responsibilities include but are not limited to the administration of our software distribution system called Marimba\BMC Configuration Management 7.2. This infrastructure consists of 36 servers throughout Michelin North America. I am certified as an MCSE in Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000. I am also a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Additionally, I am a certified Novell CNA and CNE, MCT, CIW Associate, and an A+ Professional.
