RssMaster of Public Administration

I enjoy working in fast paced environments where the work assignments vary, and multitasking is one of my strongest skills. I need little to no supervision to meet the objectives of the organization, and my work is best when I am allowed to freely express my creativity. Another skill I have that ranks high is my desire to learn. For example, in my spare time, I watch science documentaries and every time I am introduced to new concepts, I am compelled to research that concept and every concept that relates to it. I could stay up all night doing research and won’t be satisfied until I’ve covered every aspect of a topic. This is probably what has helped me the most during my college career. Most of my college assignments have required extensive writing, and this included spending endless hours searching through databases such as EBSCOhost and CQ Press to retrieve peer-reviewed journals for research. I would then use these journals to ascertain the best solutions to a problem I was addressing in my assignment. Currently, I hold a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, which focuses on Organization Theory & Behavior, Public Human Resources Management, Research Methods, Policy Issue Analysis, Government Budgeting & Finance, Grants Administration Management, Leadership Skills & Strategies, Automating Government Administration, Urban Affairs, Urban Crisis & Public Administration, and Emergency Planning & Management. I also hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and an Associate in Arts degree in Administration of Justice. Supplemental courses I have taken to enhance my skills and education include English Fundamentals of Writing, English Reading & Composition, Speech Elements of Argument & Debate, Speech Elements of Intercultural Communication, Elementary Statistics, Logic, Elementary Spanish, and Introduction to Computers & Applications. I have had experience conducting legal research through LexisNexis, Westlaw, and various other databases examining case briefs, and evaluating various legal forms and documents. I have computer skills, which include typing and working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. I am reliable, efficient, effective, punctual, and meticulous in my work performance. In areas where I lack in experience, I have compensated with educational training. Please, give me the opportunity to display my skills in your place of employment. Sincerely, Randy Cannon, MPA
