TRAINING – Established supervisory training and development program, conducted classes and led monthly roundtable discussions on HR related topics. HRIS – Developed and implemented Spectrum 1200 Human Resource Information System.

  • Human Resources Manager LABOR RELATIONS – Co-negotiated union agreements with United Steelworkers and helped settle our only strike with a package less costly than the original intended proposal. BENEFITS – Saved $250,000 over three years by developing healthcare programs to flatten health care costs during era they rose 20% annually nationwide. SAFETY & OSHA – Reduced lost time accidents by 80% with workstation improvements and aggressive safety training; successfully passed OSHA audit; reduced workers compensation premiums by $35,000 year. COMPENSATION – Led employee/management team that replaced a 75-classification seniority based wage system with a 6-classification performance based system; improved company wage administration and has been as a model in other Steelworker shops.
