KQUP-TV Equity Broadcasting


  • Regional/General Manager of four stations. Built and developed new KQUP UPN 24 from start up to two transmitters and distribution on every major cable and satellite system in 24 counties. Defined and implemented a strategic plan to raise local, regional and national billing to exceed budgets. Successfully transitioned from UPN affiliate to RTN (Retro Television Network) without a drop in revenues. Successfully re-launched KDEV ABC 8, doubling revenues in the first year. Opened new office and hired and managed staff. Repositioned WMQF FOX 19 in market and boosted sales. Launched new station KQDK RTN in Denver. For all properties, oversaw all station operations leading efforts to boost ratings and revenue providing professional, positive motivation, direction and insight for station staff, advertisers and the community at large.

KPVI-TV, NBC Sunbelt Communications


  • Defined and successfully implemented a strategic plan to raise this firm from its six year loss position into profitable status. Reorganized the sales efforts in three offices and directly handled national sales efforts. Negotiated annual contracts with national, regional and local accounts building a solid base for the year. Raised rates and reorganized inventory control to change previous heavy preemption management.

KVWB-TV Sinclair Broadcasting


  • Managed 17 member sales team in a team management environment. Set record income levels in fourth quarter. Trained, guided and coached six new to television AEs and supervised senior sales staff. Developed new promotions, sales incentives, packages and seasonal and annual sell-a-thon to build income base.

  • Defined and implemented strategic plan to raise this firm from declining ratings and income, including strategic budget cuts to improve profitability. Restructured sales department to reverse trend of declining sales sparking increased national, regional and local revenue. Managed all aspects of stations operations.
