As scoring director at National Evaluation Systems, Inc., I acquired extensive experience in virtually every phase of holistic performance assessment scoring: designing scoring systems and software; managing large-scale scoring sessions; applying quality control to scoring processes; facilitating standard-setting activities; editing performance assessments and scoring rubrics. I also served for six years as chief reader for the MTEL Communication and Literacy Skills Test and facilitated the scoring of written and oral responses to open-ended questions in nearly every certification subject area. As project editor at National Evaluation Systems, Inc., I was responsible for the development of criterion-referenced tests in numerous certification subject areas (including over fifteen different languages) for eight client state departments of education.
