Highlights:

From November 1992 through May 2018, I worked on the United Kingdom New En-Route Centre program. This software is a mission critical/real time system that supports the En-Route Air Traffic Control operations for the air space above Wales and England. This software was developed for the customer, NATS Holdings. Most of the air traffic between the U.S. and the European continent passes through this airspace. I was involved with all aspects of life-cycle development: 1. Early requirement analysis 2. Top level and detailed level software design 3. Software coding [Ada 83] and testing 4. Integration of the software components into a test environment suitable for Integration, System Acceptance, Validation, and Quality Assurance testing. 5. System deployment followed by sustainment Sustainment activities included: 1. Investigating Trouble Reports open by developers, testers, and Air Traffic Control personnel. 2. Developing “White Papers” to outline an engineering design to address individual trouble reports. These papers would address possible deficiencies in the underlying requirements. 3. Identify requirement changes needed for large scale change requests. 4. Software design and coding for large scale change requests. 5. Prior to each new software release, led the Integration of the software changes into a test environment suitable for Integration, System Acceptance, Validation, and Quality Assurance testing. 6. Analyze regression and integration testing results. 7. Investigate system generated fault alerts and deliver written analysis to the customer [NATS] system architects. My experience includes collaboration across many groups and disciplines as well as communication with the customer.
