CollapseResponsibilities

I am an expert in communicating with parents about their child's illness, nutrition, pain control, and developmental milestones. As a Pediatric Palliative Care PNP, I am responsible for pain assessment and medication management of cancer patients, sickle cell patients, and post surgical patients. In the inpatient setting I assess 1-5 patients per day and follow up with the Team members to give recommendations of pain control. I collaborate with an attending physician with each patient. In the outpatient setting I assess the needs of patients that have been discharged to manage their home medications and needs. As a staff RN in the NICU I am responsible for hands on care of high acuity neonates that have respiratory distress and feeding issues. I collaborate with the attending physicians during rounds and give my assessment and recommendations if needed.
