CollapseDescription

Was hired to bring structure to the office of their new CEO and to this “startup” business unit by managing her extremely fluid calendar, travel, expenses and speaking engagements. I created processes and procedures for purchasing and expense reporting; approved employee expense reports on behalf of the CEO; purchased supplies and services; implemented a daily meals/snack program for employees; and drove the complete redesign of the office to accommodate headcount growth. My responsibilities expanded to include supporting the VP of HR and serving as Facilities Manager responsible for vendor selection/management, security, and asset management. I played a key role in the selection, design, planning and execution of Continental’s new R&D facility in San Jose which opened in March 2017.

CollapseAccomplishments

Highlights:

 Relocated company headquarters – scouted best locations based on employee demographics to minimize commute challenges. Managed every aspect of the move including logistics, design, IT, movers, etc. I even solicited discount coupons from a number of local restaurants to give to employees as part of their new home “welcome” kit.  Instituted global employment anniversary recognition program for CEO: collected input from employees’ managers, provide to CEO who writes out anniversary cards which I then deliver on or close to employee’s anniversary date. Transitioned company from manual expense reporting to online tools for both expense reporting and travel reservations. With VP of HR, initiated a quarterly half day philanthropic team building outing for local employees: identified appropriate charities, corralled volunteers, provided lunches and ensure recognition of their work during quarterly company meeting  Implemented two major environmental/recycling solutions: 1) Installed a Crysalli water system and selection of water enhancers thereby eliminating hundreds of plastic bottles/soda cans; 2) and replaced all plates, cups and utensils with recycled, fully compostable products.  Act as CEO proxy approving travel budgets and expense reports for his direct reports and for all employees when budgets/expenses exceed direct manager’s approval level.

Companies I like:

Cisco, Herer Group , Adobe, Samsung, Bill.com Yates Consulting
