Accomplishments Avoided a data catastrophe. A 2PB data lake at Optum was suffering major issues. Discovered the lake was operating at 12x recommended limits, threatening imminent collapse. Played a key role in improving the data management model and securing a $10M+ budget for 1,000+ new nodes. Enabled the firm to scale up capacity to meet exploding demand. Drove an IBM Cloud & AI deal. A 3rd-party health insurance claims processor was considering a move to Cloud-based artificial intelligence platform. Played a key role in fact-finding, discussions, presentations and proposals, pitching IBM's Cloud Foundry and related AI solutions. Initial contract with a potential long-term value ranging in the millions. Developed & sold a cost-saving Cloud solution for a food giant. A $13B agribiz firm needed to cut IT spend. Designed a CenturyLink data center/managed IT outsourcing solution for the client's enterprise-wide global IT footprint. Played key role in closing and delivering the $2.5M contract. Projected three-year $900K in savings for the client. Won & delivered a $22M Cloud/managed IT contract. Verizon Terremark was competing for a contract from a large ehealthcare firm to migrate a core application to managed services. Devised a proposal to bundle managed UNIX with Cloud into a single service. Captured a three-year $18M initial contract and a $4M add-on for disaster recovery services. Created a scalable solution for a food giant. A Fortune 200 firm needed an IT solution to meet the needs of rapid M&A-fueled growth. Designed and sold a Verizon Terremark Cloud/IT services system. Built a compartmentalized architecture adaptable to both pre-M&A and post-acquisition needs. Completed several seamless migrations in the first few months.
