Highlights:

Selected High Profile Accomplishments and Results: Served as prior employer's primary point of contact with federal officials (OSHA, MSHA, etc.) in discovery efforts following 2006 Sago Mine disaster wherein 13 West Virginia coal miners were trapped underground following a mine explosion with only one survivor. The mine owner/operator implicated prior employer rather than its own faulty equipment and improper lightning protection. My direct participation, coordination, and full cooperation with federal authorities led to prior employer being totally absolved of responsibility for the explosion. (See Wikipedia for an overview). Teamed with outside counsel, identified and recovered over $2 million in overcharges arising out of a contractor’s RICO overbilling scheme. Perpetrators were convicted in Federal Court and served lengthy prison sentences. Teamed with international counsel, obtained insurance recovery of more than $20 million from historic insurers in runoff. Selected by the parent Company’s Executive VP and CFO to serve on a four member team (out of 5,000 employees) charged with conducting extensive business logistics analysis and business development research to create non-core and non-regulated business units. Multiple new business units were formed, many of which would ultimately manage and control the Company’s most critical assets.
