Daily Duties at 437th Airlift Wing:
Exercised first and second level supervisory personnel management authority over the 437 AW Safety Office - Designed, Planned, Developed Implemented and Managed the ground, flight, weapons/explosive, off duty, traffic, recreational safety occupational health, and risk management program for the 437 AW, tenant, supported and geographically separated units (GSUs) covering over 7,000 military, civilian, and contract employees - Provided oversight during absence of Chief of Safety for the flight safety program of safety - Directly supervisor of seven safety specialists as Ground/Weapons Safety Manager - Supervised an additional four officers as Acting Chief of Safety - Planned and Scheduled work including training, inspections, meetings, investigations and safety program reviews - Promoted effective training programs training targeting young drivers though the Alive at 25 course resulting in ZERO deaths of attendees - Responsible for development, implementation, and management of base safety plans, policies and procedures - Provides safety consultation to commanders, supervisors, and functional managers on technical directives, safety criteria, and operational techniques - Provides guidance and oversight of 20 collateral duty safety personnel in the performance of safety inspections, investigations, hazard abatement and safety education training - Ensures an active training program for workers, supervisors, managers, and collateral duty safety personnel in occupational safety and health programs - Performs mishap data trend analysis and recommends measures to correct unfavorable conditions or procedures - Serves as the base Operational Risk Management manager advising commanders, supervisors, and workers on Operational Risk Management procedures and techniques for reducing and preventing mishaps - Experienced in utilizing Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), National Electric Codes (NEC), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and Air Force Occupational Safety and Health (AFOSH) Standards as reference materials - Developed concept to fruition seven at speed closed course Joint Force motorcycle training events - Instituted AMC Sport Bike Course, training over 150 riders in a three month time period - Annual motorcycle safety training event and ride hosted over 200 riders - Experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
