Daily Duties at Gulfstream Aerospace:
Started as an avionics sheet metal mechanic. On the completion aircraft. I built and installed parts per prints and STC’s. I was one of the primary mechanics that was used to get Gulfstream and other company's STC's Certified. I also had to do fiberglass modification. After 3 years transferred to the service area. There I did the same type work but on older aircraft. I also did aircraft repairs 20% of the time. I then became the lead of that area. I dealt with engineering to issue prints. I also was asked by engineering to design how things were installed on the aircraft. I also made sure that the paper work was correct per FAA rules. Ordered all parts and track them till being issued or had the parts made. Was one of the primary mechanic that was sent on location to work.
What they like about Gulfstream Aerospace:
A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
